Mr. Singhal has been working in the satellite and telecom industry for more than twenty nine years and has extensive US and international experience in the corporate management, strategy, finance, business development, planning, implementing infrastructure, ground based satellite communication systems, terrestrial & submarine fiber circuits and space segment worldwide. Sanjay has been associated with the satellite industry since 1987 and has advised, set-up, managed, operated several organizations in SATCOM and ICT businesses. Sanjay has traveled worldwide extensively and has developed relationships with Telecom Corporations, PTTs, Ministry of Telecoms, US and Diplomatic Missions abroad, UN Agencies, Foreign Governments and has/had active partnerships in more than 65 countries worldwide.

Sanjay founded the flagship satellite communication company, Sintel Satellite Services, Inc., back in 1997 on Long Island, New York providing systems integration and satellite projects implementation in Africa, Middle East, SE Asia and Europe with regional teams located in Asia & Middle East and program managers and technology expertise based in the US. SintelSat has developed a niche market to provide satellite, fiber and wireless solutions to US corporates and government customers with implementation at international locations in difficult and challenging locations. An equally significant part of the business provides services & solutions to international customers, governments, corporations, service providers & legacy PTTs overseas on specialized, complex and challenging projects that require cutting edge solutions within time and budget constraints. The company has been successful in providing multi-technology, multi-platform, vendor agnostic solutions worldwide with US based methodology and professionalism.

Since 1990s, Mr. Singhal has emphasized the business value proposition and local knowledge in emerging markets achieved through the local & regional presence and set up company’s international field offices in many countries including but not limited to the Afghanistan, Philippines, India, Djibouti, Dubai, Bahrain, Iraq, Lebanon, South Sudan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and Libya. This has provided tremendous value to our western hemisphere customers by taking advantage of the local/ regional knowledge in Africa, Middle East and Central & SE Asia with global outlook thus providing business efficiency. In early 2000s, SintelSat had installed several teams spread all over the globe including Afghanistan, Iraq and other difficult places to address the telecom requirements in the post-conflict zones with limited, damaged or no infrastructure. The current effort is based on installing teams in the emerging markets of East and West Africa, Egypt, Sudan, Mali, Gambia, Libya and in future Syria and Persian Gulf.

In the early part of his career, Sanjay’s experience included more than a decade of hands-on systems design, project engineering, program management, on-site implementation and business development experience with the world leaders Companies like Satellite Transmission Systems (STS), New York, California Microwave and Globecomm Systems, New York. During that time, Sanjay traveled worldwide extensively and successfully managed & implemented many large, prestigious programs worldwide.

Besides managing SintelSat, Sanjay has advised several companies in the Telecom & IT sector, Organizations like UN and Government Agencies from the Industry side. Sanjay was a “Champion” member of the United Nations – Global Alliance for ICT Development for last 6 years and has contributed to ICT development issues in the underdeveloped, remote and less privileged parts of the globe. He is a life member of the AFCEA, a life senior member of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS). Sanjay is currently serving on the Ethics Committee as a Board member of National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) based in Arlington,VA. In addition, Sanjay is a regular visitor to United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), UN-ECOSOC and UN-DESA.

Sanjay holds dual degree Executive-MBA from Columbia Business School, NY and London Business School, UK; a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University, NY; and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). He has been living on Long Island, New York for three decades. Sanjay is a true global citizen and supports cross-border business, science & technology initiatives, entrepreneurship and international relations. Sanjay recently attended Executive Education in International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School.
