Sintelsat has provided a low cost 1.8-meter navigator antenna with custom designed ST-2100 Antenna Control Unit (ACU). The controller is capable of adjusting AZ, EL and POL position on other satellite in the visible arc during satellite failure. All this is done a hundred of remote unmanned sites simultaneously from the hub location. This provides mission critical satellite redundancy for the network. All this is done within a couple of minutes time span and the a network of 300 sites with millions of subscribers can be brought back on-line virtually instantaneously.

Sintelsat’s ST-2100 ACU is a very cost-effective offering to provide a remote control system for the VSAT terminals for unmanned operation for many other applications. The VSAT terminals can be easily repositioned using pre-programmed satellite position for more than 20 satellites in the visible arc that can be operated with just a push of a button.
